The 18mm Smartply T&G Flooring Full Board is a moisture-resistant OSB tongue & groove panel engineered for fast installation and dependable performance. The interlocking T&G edges pull tight for a snug, creak-free subfloor with fewer fixings and minimal movement. Use it for load-bearing floors, loft spaces, sheds, refurb overlays and new-build subfloors where speed and stability matter.
- Firstly, 18mm thickness delivers strong support and excellent screw-holding for joisted floors.
- Next, the tongue & groove profile ensures smooth, interlocking installation and accurate alignment.
- Additionally, moisture-resistant manufacturing helps the board perform in humid environments during build phases.
- Moreover, full-size boards cover more area with fewer joins, reducing labour time.
- Finally, Smartply OSB offers consistent quality with no core voids, so cuts are clean and predictable.
Ideal for domestic and commercial subfloors, loft boarding, garden rooms, sheds, site cabins, timber frame projects, and floor overlays to stiffen uneven decks. For areas exposed to persistent wetting, use an appropriate weathering layer and follow the manufacturer’s guidance.
Boards are supplied full size for efficient coverage. Order the quantity you need and allow for expansion gaps around room perimeters and between sheets as specified. If you’re matching to existing flooring heights or under-finish build-ups, confirm the total system thickness before fixing.
- Acclimatise panels on site.
- Lay with tongues facing out, stagger long joints, and adhesive-bond the T&G for a squeak-free finish.
- Fix to joists with wood screws or ring-shank nails at recommended centres; glue to joists for extra stiffness.
- Seal and protect exposed edges during construction and keep the deck covered if rain is expected.
- Always follow current building regulations and the project designer’s specification.Add flooring screws and adhesives for a complete install.

1. Is this board structural?
Yes. 18mm Smartply T&G is designed for load-bearing subfloors when installed to the designer’s span and fixing schedule.
2. Can I use it in humid areas?
The board is moisture-resistant for humid conditions during build phases. Protect from prolonged wetting and follow detailing for bathrooms or kitchens.
3. Do I need to glue the joints?
For best results, apply a suitable joint adhesive to the tongue & groove and wipe away squeeze-out. This reduces squeaks and improves stiffness.
4. What fasteners should I use?
Use wood screws or ring-shank nails at typical spacings (e.g., 150 mm on supported edges and 300 mm in the field, unless your specification states otherwise).
5. Can it be left exposed as the final floor?
It’s intended as a subfloor. Add your chosen finish—vinyl, laminate, engineered wood or carpet—following the floor manufacturer’s requirements.
6. How do I handle expansion?
Leave recommended expansion gaps between boards and at room perimeters. Maintain a dry, ventilated site while adhesives cure.
