Choose fire rated ply when safety matters and timing is tight. We cut every fire retardant plywood panel to your measurements, so parts arrive ready to fit. Made with quality hardwood veneers and FR treatment, these boards help slow flame spread while machining and finishing like regular plywood. They’re ideal for public buildings, retail spaces, exhibitions, and residential upgrades requiring higher fire performance. Perfect for anyone needing heat resistant plywood for safe interior applications.
First, you save time on site. Next, you reduce waste. Finally, you get repeatable accuracy for complex shapes and batch work.
- EN 13501-1 reaction-to-fire classified (check your delivery docs for the exact class, e.g., B-s1,d0)
- Smooth faces that paint, laminate or veneer cleanly
- CNC-accurate cutting to the millimetre
- Popular thicknesses available; ask for the size you need
Need full sheets instead? See Fire Retardant Plywood – Full Board.
Working in wet or exterior areas? Compare Marine Plywood Full Board.
For slip-resistant floors and ramps, try Buffalo Board (anti-slip phenolic).
- Construction & fit-out: wall linings, partitions, ceilings and bulkheads
- Exhibitions & events: stands, stages and TV/film sets that must meet venue rules
- Shopfitting & hospitality: counters, fixtures and back-of-house areas
- Transport interiors: rail, bus, coach and boat cabins
Manufacturers pressure-impregnate veneers with a flame-retardant solution, bond, and kiln-dry to a controlled moisture level. Each fire retardant wooden board is tested and certified for reaction-to-fire performance. Because the treatment penetrates the panel, you can cut and finish it with standard tools; just seal cut edges after machining.
- Always confirm the specified class with your building control officer or fire engineer.
- Seal faces and edges after cutting to maintain performance.
- Keep documentation with the project O&M file.
- Select your required thickness.
- Enter the length and width of each piece.

1. Is flame retardant plywood fireproof?
No. It reduces flame spread and smoke, but it doesn’t make timber fireproof. Use it as part of a compliant system.
2. Can I paint or laminate it?
Yes. Lightly sand, then apply paint, laminate or veneer. Seal edges when you finish.
3. Is it suitable outdoors?
It’s designed for interior environments. For exterior or high-moisture use, select a suitable exterior/marine panel and check fire requirements.
4. How fast is delivery?
We cut to order and ship UK-wide with quick lead times.
